Vision
Our vision is to educate kids and the broader Sharon community about cricket while contributing to the development of the sport.

Our History
The vision for SYCA was established in the spring of 2015.

We approached the Sharon Recreation Committee and School Committee to approve our proposal for a cricket pitch to be laid at the Sharon Middle School baseball field. They were overwhelmingly supportive and in summer of 2015 the cricket pitch was made with contributions from members of Sharon Cricket Club!

The first (soon to be) SYCA Clinic, held in summer of 2016, was a small friends and family affair, was conducted with total enrollment of under 15 children.

In Spring 2017, the SYCA as an organization was officially founded. Enrollment grew by leaps and bounds, eventually peaking at 58 students!
Prashant Kaitkay
President and Founder
A local Sharon resident and Co-Founder of Sharon Cricket Club (SCC), (Sharon's Adult Cricket League), Prashant has always been active in Cricket and other local activities.

At his day job, Prashant is the Director of Management Consulting at PwC. During his off hours, as he says, Prashant likes to create something from nothing.

His passion for cricket along with his desire to build new things ignited this idea and spurred him to found the Sharon Youth Cricket Association.
Aparna
Executive Director
Aparna is a mom of two boys, and, as someone rightfully said is "the brawn" behind SYCA.

She has been involved with SYCA since 2016, and has worn several hats during the period from coaching the Under 6 kids to getting everything organized for our Annual tournament while also managing our social media presence and leading our enrollment efforts.
